~ 1982 ---- The Birth of X ~
-  Summer - Yoshiki and Toshi form the band X.
~ 1985 ~
- February - Released first single 'I'll Kill You', it sold about one thousand copies.

-  July - Selected to be on a compilation album called 'HEAVY METAL FORCE', contributed 'I'll Kill You' and 'Break The Darkness'.

X's lineup:  Toshi (Vocal), Yuji (Guitar), Tomo (Guitar), Tokuo (Bass), Yoshiki (Drum/Piano).
~ 1986 ---- Extasy ~
-  EXTASY RECORDS was founded.  At that time, X's music was too agressive and somewhat new to people, so no Indies recording company wanted to take a risk by accepting them.  Therefore, X established its own recording company with their own money.  Yoshiki's mother sells the family business, beliving in Yoshiki's vision.

-  March - Released Single 'Orgasm'.

X's lineup:  Toshi (Vocal), Jun (Guitar), Hikaru (Bass), Yoshiki (Drum/Piano).
~ 1987 ---- Recrutement ~
-  February - Taiji joins X, and then hide and Isao join.  Because of an accident, Isao had to leave, then Pata joined.

X' s lineup:  Toshi (Vocal), hide (Guitar), Pata (Guitar), Taiji (Bass), Yoshiki (Drum/Piano).
~ 1988 --- First Glance of what is to Come ~
-  April 14th - Released album 'Vanishing Vision' (as an indies band) it sold about 10 000 copies in its first week.

-  May - Ladies Room and Zi:Kill made contracts with Extasy Records, before this, Extasy only released
X records.

X makes a cameo in the american film 'Tokyo Pop'.  Their screen time is a whole 20 seconds, Yoshiki and hide speak a bit during that scene.  (Back up.. ;))
~ 1989 --- Signed Major Record Deal ~
-  April 21st - Released first major album 'Blue Blood'.

-  June - Released video 'Bakuhatsu-Sunzen-GIG'

-  September 1st - Released single 'Kurenai' placed 5th in the Oricon Charts its first week of release.

-  November 15th - Re-released of 'Vanishing Vision' on CD.

-  December 1st - Start of first tour 'ROSE & BLOOD TOUR'.
-  December 1st - Released single 'Endless Rain' placed 3rd in the Oricon Charts its first week of released.
-  December 1st - Released video 'Shigeki-Visual Shock Vol.2'

-  February - Restarted 'ROSE & BLOOD TOUR'.

-  March - Won the 'New Artist of the Year Award' from the Japan Record Awards.

-  May 7th - hide's memorial service, 50 000 people showed up to pay their respects.  Toshi, Yoshiki, Pata and Heath sang 'SCARS' and 'Forever Love'.

-  July 23rd - The songs from hide's memorial service were released.
